Angel City FC

Angel City FC is a professional women’s soccer team based in Los Angeles, California, and competes in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The team was founded in 2020 and began play in the 2022 NWSL season. Angel City FC was created by a group of influential investors and businesswomen, including actress Natalie Portman, tech entrepreneur Kara Nortman, and former U.S. Women's National Team stars such as Abby Wambach and Mia Hamm. This diverse ownership group brought together both entertainment industry veterans and sports enthusiasts, creating a club that aimed to both elevate the profile of women’s soccer and advocate for social change. The team quickly became known for its commitment to diversity, community engagement, and fostering a passionate fanbase.

In their inaugural season, Angel City FC quickly captured the attention of both soccer fans and the broader public with their high-energy performances and strong community presence. They play their home games at BMO Stadium, a historic venue in the heart of Los Angeles, and are known for their enthusiastic fan group, The Angel City Brigade. Despite being a new team, they have already established themselves as one of the most exciting and influential clubs in the NWSL, with a mission to support women’s sports while giving back to the local community. The club’s efforts to highlight causes such as gender equality, racial justice, and mental health have made them a standout in the world of professional soccer.
