In 1994, Germany came to the USA as reigning World Cup champions, only to suffer a surprising quarter-finals loss to Bulgaria. This was a DFB team that included the likes of Jurgen Klinsmann, Rudi Voller, Oliver Kahn and Matthias Sammer. Scoring for Bulgaria were two of that country's greatest players: Yordan Letchkov and Hristo Stoichkov.
