Major news outlets report that LAFC are set to land a global star: Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung‑min. On August 6 2025, the club confirmed it had signed the 33‑year‑old South Korea captain from Tottenham for a transfer fee of about 26.5 million dollars, the largest incoming transfer in Major League Soccer history. He will occupy a Designated Player slot and is under contract through 2027, with options that could extend the deal as far as 2029. Beyond his club exploits, Son has 51 goals in 134 caps for South Korea, making him one of his country’s most prolific internationals. LAFC, winners of the 2022 MLS Cup, believe his pace, finishing ability and star power will not only bolster their attack but also raise Major League Soccer’s profile worldwide.
